Wearing dinner.

Wearing dinner., originally uploaded by ceepdublu.

Dinner tonight: steak, broccoli, onions, watermelon, mushrooms, and potatoes. And she’s wearing it all. And quite happy about it, actually!

Seven months!

Annie at seven months:
* Weighs around 15 lbs (guesstimate)
* Was in the 15th percentile for height and weight at her last WBV and the 60th for head size. Someone has to be in those lower percentiles!
* Is still in a size small for her diaper covers.
* Wears a 6-9 month size in most clothes.
* Goes down for the night between 7:30 and 8.
* Is up for the day between 6 and 7.
* Wakes… many times in that 11 hours (darn teething!)
* Loves to sing goofy songs I learned at summer camp, stuff by the Kids Praise Kids, and anything I make up for her.
* Is STILL not a fan of being confined in anything but will tolerate it for short periods of time.
* Loves table food–pretty much anything and everything is okay as long as the grown-ups are eating it too. Spices? Strong flavors? No big deal. (Except for that pickle. That pickle made her make a face… but she kept eating it!)
* Will spin circles like a second hand if set down on the floor.
* Can belly crawl for close to a foot if appropriately motivated.
* Favorite toys are keys (bangs them on things), cell phones (nom nom nom), blocks (Mama piles them up, she knocks them over, repeat with smiles), and her shaker eggs.
* Loves the Sandra Boynton hippo books and the Baby Smiles book, and is getting very good about turning pages on her own when she’s done looking at things.
* Can put herself down for a nap (yay!) and will look at books while falling asleep in her bed.
* Chatters (babamabamamada) and loves to make noises with her lips and tongue, and really enjoys it when others join in.
* LOVES to go swimming and doesn’t mind water on her face in the pool or the shower.
* Puts pretty much everything (grass, toys, leaves, socks, etc.) into her mouth.
* Has realized that there’s a way to get things on tables/shelves/etc. above her, but hasn’t quite figured out that it means pulling herself up. The intent and desire are clear in her eyes, though. I’m afraid. ;-D
* Is looking like she’ll have hazel eyes, and is constantly having people comment on how big they are.
* Has long wisps of hair that fall into her eyes if we don’t keep them clipped back.
* Is STILL the cutest thing that ever was, and a Joy to her Mommy and Daddy.

Mobility

We are mobile… after a fashion. She’s just not convinced yet that the benefits outweigh the effort. :-)

Six months

Annie at six months:
* Weighs around 14 lbs (that’s a guesstimate from being on the scale with me)
* Has moved to infant size cloth diapers (as opposed to the newborn size she was in before)
* Wears a 6-9 month size in most clothes
* Goes down for the night between 7 and 7:30
* Is up for the day between 6 and 7
* Wakes between 2-4 times in that 11 hours
* Loves to sing, play with her ball, and look at books
* Can sit unsupported indefinitely… or until she gets bored
* Loves to look at the other babies during infant storytime at the library
* Is not a fan of being confined in anything but will tolerate it for short periods of time
* Is learning to deal with crowd noise at baseball games (by our third game in a week, she’d learned to cover her ears against the loudest sounds… it was pretty cute, actually)
* Loves table food and gets bent out of shape if someone’s eating and not sharing. So far she’s had toast, rice, broth, shredded wheat soaked in rice milk, a bit of refried beans, strawberries, broccoli, chicken, and her favorite, banana.
* Can drink from a cup if someone’s holding it
* Is FASCINATED by the cats
* Is about the cutest thing that ever was. :D

Reading!

I’m behind on posting things, so I thought I’d tide y’all over with a couple of videos. When this one was taken, she was just figuring out that turning the pages of a book would give her something different to look at. She hadn’t yet figured out which direction to turn them, but that has since changed, and now she goes forward. Mostly.
